Do you store them in freezer or chiller? What is the recommended toasting time
Thanks for your quesion, Anna. Toufayan Hearth Baked Bagels, as well as all of our bread products, should be stored at room temperature. Do not leave in direct sunlight and avoid heat sources like the top of the fridge. You can freeze unopened packages for up to eight months – if you do, defrost at room temperature (about 1-2 hours). Thawed products retain the shelf life they had remaining prior to being frozen.
We do not recommend putting any bread product in the refridgerator (condensation can reduce the shelf life).
Toasting time varies by device and toasting amount by personal preference. In our home we set our toaster to “medium”, when we’re spreading cream cheese, buttter, or jelly on our bagels (like the above recipe). For a deli sandwhich, we set the toaster to “light”. For hot sandwiches like bacon, egg and cheese or grilled cheese, I like it set to “high”. If you want to unlock additional flavor without toasting, or for recipes like pizza bagels, you can bake the bagels (15-20 minutes at about 350 degress).
