Every time I buy brats, sausages or hot dogs I fantasize about the U shaped buns. Searched and searched for them and just found a post about them.

Please bring back the Snuggles hotdog bun, It was the best ever and now with the larger hot dogs (bigger around) the V shaped ones just can’t handle it. when you add the comdimets in the V shaped buns all you have is a mess and you need a firehose to clean up after yourself.

Yes that’s what I’m looking gor. They were the best. My store used to sale them. I worked for KROGER and they were in our deli. There is nothing out there like it.
Something about the machines that shaped and baked the Snuggles can’t be duplicated by another machine ,the Mandelbaum machine,something like that name. Best texture of doughy bread goodness, and shape held the toppings so well.Nothing has replaced it.

Yes, have the grocessery stores market/place them near the other hot dog buns! You will sell more than in the Deli/specialty bread section.
Please keep up your work to bring the snuggles back! These were my favorite as a kid camping in northern Michigan in the 80’s. Living in Utah now trying to explain these to my wife was pretty funny and stumbled on a blog post with the whole history (https://retroist.com/toufayan-snuggles-hot-dog-buns/ ). Pure nostalgia but still remember how awesome they were.
I loved snuggle buns as a kid in Florida in the 70s, along with likes brothers hotdogs. I’m sad to say both are gone now.
A huge void with no Snuggles going into this grilling season. My kids where raised on Snuggles now my grandchildren have a void. Only stories around the pool of what use to be. Please strongly consider bringing this awesome product back into production.
Add me to the chorus of fans of Snuggles! There is nothing, nothing! that can beat them. I have been looking, searching for a replacement to no avail. I’ve tried everything. Buying unsliced buns, carving out the insides, ones spilt down the front, everything. Nothing works. I go on line every once in a while to see if they are back or if anybody has a replacement. Alas! No such luck. Help a gal out here. If I get chile down the front of me one more time!

Hi folks, allow us to add to the chorus asking to bring back the Snuggles hot dog bun. We do understand the problems with restoring or re-creating unique equipment, and we appreciate your focus on keeping up with the basics in the pandemic. I have seen recent news stories on manufacturing companies that still rely on unique 19th century machines. Maybe a older mechanic can figure out how to restore the old machines you have! Good luck! Waiting with bated breath!
I grew up on Snuggles and I have been searching high and low for them for years. Please bring them back . They are delish!!!

Please please please please please bring these back!!!! They are absolutely the perfect hot dog buns! They don’t fall apart, it’s easy to steam them with shredded cheese on top, it’s easy to put the hot dog in the bun to begin with… America needs these buns back!
I was looking for a special bakery present for a friend of mine when I had a fond memory of the Snuggle Hot Dog Bun. Every single time I have to buy hot dog buns I am still hugely disappointed they are not the Snuggle Bun. I grew up with them. My Mom and I both smile with those thoughts. I would really like to introduce my sons to them. Make sure they understand the flavor, texture and wonderful depth they provide for hot dogs, chili dogs, etc. The bottom of a Snuggle Bun does not fall apart like other hot dog buns.
Please, please, please bring them back and email everyone on this site, and others, that are inquiring. I was pleased to see soooooo many people have wonderful memories as well and would love to have them again!
PLEASE, oh PLEASE bring back Snuggle buns soon! There’s nothing like them! They’re incredible for hot dogs, chili dogs, and sandwiches. I’ve been missing them for years now. Trust me, everyone I know will be buying them like crazy when you do because I can’t stop talking about them! Cheers!

Was looking for the Snuggle Buns and came across this! Please don’t tell me you discontinued them! We need them back! I would like to use them steamed and sliced up with chicken nuggets on them besides eating them with the hot dogs. Kids would love them in their lunches as bite size sandwiches. Please, bring them back!
Snuggle chicken nuggets sound amazing. Unfortunately, yes, these have been discontinued for some years now. However, some of our customers have been asking for them lately and we’ve been looking into the possibility of bringing them back. The challenges this year has presented so far has kept us from making any progress in this direction, but its still on the top of our minds and we’ll post about them if we can get something going!

Any update on snuggles availibility?
Sorry John, we had hoped to make some strides this year, but we’ve had to really adjust our workflow to ensure we could continue baking during the current crisis. We’ll keep these favorite buns on the top of our minds, and look for ways to bring them back!
My friend raves about how wonderful your Snuggle buns were. They worked perfectly . I.never even tried them before. Now I’m sad crying day and night. I won’t stop till you get your Toufayan elves back in the shop to make those buns . My friend and I want to buy them .

I was trying to explain to my wife what snuggles were then I found an old picture online. I showed her and she said I remember those. Please bring them back. We really miss them.

Please bring them back!!! The last place by me who carried them was Hiller’s grocery went out of business here in Michigan so I thought that was why I haven’t been able to find them I didn’t no that you stopped making them completely but I had been checking for them everywhere & every time I grocery shopped (like other people mentioned I thought with Amazon & the web I might just have to order a commercial amount & get them shipped . & I totally would have!!!) please, please, please bring them back over the years I have used them for all kinds of things from hotdogs & brats, to tuna, crab & chicken salad, philly steaks, coney’s & not so sloppy sloppy Joe’s!! Even vegetarian “carrot stick hot dogs” yes just picture a giant carrot trimmed up to look like a hot dog then topped with all your favorite toppings!! The even would for “subs” at tailgating & you can fill them then cut them up for appetizer size & they hold together perfectly (I dare anyone to try that with a regular old sub or hot dog bu) I’ve done so much over the years with these that I once had someone whole only knew me from an annual end of summer corn roast come up to me to ask how I made those delightful U shaped corn crab salad rolls & tell me she’d been dreaming of it all year & was disappointed to see I’d done the same corn crab salad in lettuce cups that year when those buns had been so terrific!!! I confessed they were store bought & that I couldn’t find them anymore but believe me if I could make them, I definitely would — so please, please bring them back soon!

We’ve had quite a few set-backs in trying to brings these wonderful buns back to the market. Not the least of which being the custom-made equipment that helps our bakers create and package that unique shape. When we tried to track down the old equipment we found that all of it had been re-manufactured. Our bakers have looked into working with new equipment designers and manufacturers to rebuild the secret designs, but it’s slow going and extremely expensive. For now, all we can tell you is that it’s going to take awhile. Sorry.
So glad you are working on it. Rest assured I’ll be buying a lot of them. In addition to hot dogs, they are fantastic for sloppy joes!
I do hope you will bring the Snuggles back to market. So often when we have an extended family gathering someone mentions them wistfully. I finally decided to poke about on the Internet to see what I could find out and so next time I’ll be able to report that you are working on it. Thanks and PLEASE PERSEVERE! We love Snuggles 🙂

I think once you resolve the equipment problem your next problem will be meeting the demand. You may not need a marketing campaign because once a they are available and a few people post on FACEBOOK how great they are I think it will go viral cause they are that GOOD! The last time we found these here in NC was in the late 1990’s at FoodLion. My family still remembers how great they are for hotdogs.
Pamela- Me too! My family was on vacation in NC when we 1st had the Snuggles buns and they were the best things ever. Eating hot dogs on those buns are one of the best memories my brother and I share of growing up and of our family vacations.
I really hope Toufayan can bring them back!!
East Bay Deli has a bun they serve their hot dogs with homemade chili. I did not know what they were called and not sure if they are the snuggles bun but they look like them. Best hot dogs in town.

Thanks for your comment. Now I want chili dogs 😉 From the images I’ve seen on their website, I think the South Carolina deli uses split-top hot dog buns. Not a bad substitute for Snuggles. If you can get unsliced hot dog rolls, cut them along the top to recreate this at home.
Yes! These were excellent! I always thought they were called covered wagon buns. Ive searched over the years here and there for these w/ no luck. Now that I am in the food service business i’d love to get my hands on some of these! Please bring em’ back! . Bill

Snuggles were the best chili dog bun on the planet. The biggest issue was store location. Snuggles were never located by the hotdog buns. I could understand why retailers would think it doesn’t sell well. If you do bring them back, re-think the packaging. Show a loaded chili dog and a Chicago style dog loaded with relish onion tomato pickle spear.
Another “vote” from another fan who has gone too many years without the only hot dog buns that never feel apart and always held all the toppings.
Snuggles were pure genius.

I really hope you find a solution to the equipment needed to make these perfect buns again. Not only were they great with hotdogs but so incredible as a tuna fish sandwich. Somehow the bun tasted sweeter with tuna. I tell my wife about them and she has never heard about them so I looked them up today and found this page.
I’m happy to leave my comment and SO wish they would come back again. I would have 3 bags in my house ALWAYS, and not just for hotdogs but so many other sandwiches.
I’m with you Patrick! Sometimes its slow to make changes, but the Toufayan family wants to bring your favorite products to your family. Hopefully we start seeing some progress soon!
