Why do you not list your Tandoori Bread is there a way for a person to just purchase from you since the store is Always out of stock?
Thanks for your comment. You can find details about our Tandoori bread on this web page, and additional details including nutritional information by selecting a variety on this page.
Please check our store locator to find Tandoori near you.
In the ingredients list for your wheat Mediterranean flatbread It says you add a mold inhibitor. Could you please tell me what mold inhibitor you use? Thank you
To help maintain freshness, we use calcium propionate in our Mediterranean Style Flat Bread and cultured wheat flour in our Keto Flat Bread.
Hello – We have always purchased the hearty white flat breads from you guys. We have a child with a rare oat allergy and we noticed oat fiber on the ingredients list. Is that a new addition to the ingredients? We didn’t notice it before and it wasn’t listed on our grocery store website (Kroger). Could you please let me know if this was a recent change or if oat fiber was always an ingredient. Thank you for the time!
Thanks for your question, Joe. Yes, recently the recipe for our Hearty White Flatbreads was changed, now including Oat Fiber. We strive to find the most wholesome ingredients and recipes, and avoid changing recipes too often. When we do make a change, the new products may be rolled out while the provious recipe is still available in some areas. We’ve asked an associate to contact Kroger to have the ingredients updated on their website. While we always try to maintain up to date nutritional imformation on this site, and ask our grocers to do the same, it is always important to check the physical package for the most accurate information. Please feel free to comment further if you have any other questions.
Hi,
I just purchased Mediterranean Flat Bread White from Shoprite. it says M.E> Bakery with your address on it. Is this your product? If so, my son is allergic to all nuts (including coconut) and sesame seeds. Is it safe for him to have?
Thank you.
Hello Constantine, we do sell a “Mediterranean Flat Bread” in some stores. I can’t confirm you have the same product, but if so, it does not contain nuts of any kind and is not processed on equipment that also processes nuts. However, our Mediterranean Flat Bread does include sesame. Please look for the ‘Toufayan Bakeries’ logo on the package, or more importantly, check the ingredients statement and the “contains” statement just below the ingredient list. On all food packaging in the US, allergens must be listed below the ingredient list, even if the product does not contain the allergen but is processed on equipment that also processes that allergen.
Please feel free to comment further with any other questions.
It says Middle East Bakery Inc. It is not Toufayan packaging. It says M.E. Bakery (same address). It does not list sesame or any other allergens on ingredients.
I can’t speak to that product directly, however, if your allergen is not shown in the ingredient list or in the contains statement, it is most likely safe to consume. US labelling laws require the allergens to be listed on the package, even if they are not ingredients, but are processed alongside the product.
I’m confused. I purchased your Keto Flatbread primarily based on the low carbohydrate count of 5 net cards per pita. Once I got it home I noticed that the Nutritional Facts on the back of the package stated the carb count as 18 per pita! That’s quite the variance! The info on the front of the package is obviously misleading, as you don’t even define what you mean by “net carb”. As a diabetic a true representation of the carb count is very important.
Can you help me understand this seeming misrepresentation?
Hello Brad, Net Carbs are calculated by subtracting the Total Fiber from the Total Carbs (18g Carbs – 13g Fiber = 5 Net Carbs).
The American Diabetes Association recommends using the total grams of carbohydrate, rather than Net Carbs, and closely monitoring your blood sugar when consuming foods high in fiber or sugar alcohol to determine how they affect your body.
Please feel free to comment further if you have another question.
Have you discontinued your Wheat and Flax Lavash? I cannot find this item anywhere I live (Lexington, KY and Louisville, KY). Appreciate your feedback and help in getting this particular item. This item is a boon for diabetics like me. Thank you.
We are phasing out our Lavash. It is already discontinued in your region. Please consider trying our Tandoori flatbread instead. Find Flatbread near you
Hi I would like to know if your flatbread is dairy free. My son has a dairy allergy, I have loved your product in the past, but wanted to make sure before we get it for our son
Hello Amber, our flatbread is dairy free. Almost all Toufayan products (our Mini Croissants are made with milk products) are dairy free.
Hello! Is flatbread made in the facility with nuts?
Thank you!
Hi Milda,
Thanks for your question. All of our facilities are peanut and tree nut free. You can enjoy Toufayan Hearth Baked Flatbread and all of our products, safely. Enjoy!
Hi can vegan eat your multigarain pita bread??? Whic kind sugar u put in it (is it vegan sugar) pls ans thnxs fr reply
Hello Fenny and thanks for your question.
Our Multigrain Pita Bread is naturally vegan, made with only vegan ingredients. Our Organic Sprouted Whole Wheat pita contains organic honey and is therefore not vegan, but all of our other Pita breads are naturally vegan. Enjoy.
I like to make flatbread pizzas but only buy organic grain products because of all the RoundUp in Roundup Ready crops. I know you used to make an organic flatbread or naan. If you no longer make it I won’t be buying your products anymore.
Thanks for your interest, Diana. We’re sorry to say that we no longer make Organic Naan. However, please try our line of Organic Sprouted Whole Wheat products, which you can find near you. Or, use our store locator for more info.
Hello, i have hearty white flat bread. Is it necessary to be roasted or cooked? Or i can directly eat them with something like omelette?
Thanks,
Chaitanya
They are good right out of the package! We do like to warm them up a bit, a little heat releases a bit more flavor and increases the softness in the texture. A spin in the microwave with a slightly damp paper towel or a couple of minutes with some oil or butter in the frying pan works well. You can also toast them or bake them for a few minutes. With an omelette, we recommend a little butter in the frying pan, cook on each side for a minute or two until the bread is warm but not too hot. Thanks for your question, Chaitanya, please feel free to comment further!
Are your flat breads vegan? I currently have the hearty white and am Converting to a vegan diet and some of the ingredients could go either way. Thanks in advance.
Hello Staci,
Our Hearth Baked Flatbreads aren’t yet certified vegan, however, we don’t use any non-vegan ingredients. While we do use calcium propionate and other ingredients that can be made from vegetable or animal fat, we use only vegetable fat and microbial fermentation.

How many inches in diameter are the flatbreads? I like your pita (classic white plain) but it is a bit smaller than what we would ideally like.
Hello Daniel and thank you for your interest.
Our Hearth Baked Flat Bread is larger than our Hearth Baked Pita, though they are only slightly larger in diameter. Flat Breads are approximately 7″ in diameter, while Pita is 6″.
If you’re looking for an even larger bread, you can try our Lavash or our Naan. Both of these breads are very large. There are Multi-Grain and Whole Wheat varieties of Lavash and our Naan is available in Garlic or Original varieties.
Please let us know if you try any and what you think of them, or if you have any other questions.
Hi. I have a query. Natural flavor used in your products. Does this ingredient undergo processing with ethanol during its own manufacture?
My son refuses to eat any other type of bread for his school lunch sandwiches. I had to go 30 miles to the nearest store that sold them until my local grocer (Brookshire’s) started getting them for me. They recently told me they were unable to order them anymore so now I’m back to ordering a case at a time from Albertsons 30 min away. Is there any other way to order online?
Thank you for your interest, Jennifer.
Toufayan Bakeries ships mainly to distributors who in turn ship to your local supermarkets. At this time, our facilities are not set up to ship individual cases or smaller orders across the nation.
Please ask your favorite grocer to add Toufayan Hearth Baked Flat Bread to their inventories or to contact us directly.
Ask them to call 800-328-7428 or visit our contact page.
In the meantime, you may find a map of the country on our where to buy page. From there you can click on your area to see a list of stores in your region that are part of our distributor’s reach. It is up to each individual store manager to stock Toufayan products or not, but those grocers listed on our where to buy page already have the availability to stock our products.
Thank you so much.
The wholesome wheat flatbreads are awesome. I made pizzas using them as the crust and they are sooo filling. Awesome!
Looking at the ingredients list, it appears to be vegan. Please explain. Thanks
Hello Steve and thanks for your interest.
We strive to use the finest and healthiest ingredients in our Hearth Baked Flat Bread. While carefully chosen, there are some ingredients that may be a little harder to pronounce, such as Calcium Propionate (a salt), Mono and Diglycerides or Sodium Stearoyl Lactylate (derived from Stearic Acid) which are all used to help in the mixing of many baked goods and some dairy products or, to increase shelf life by maintaining freshness.
Glycerides and Stearic acid can be derived from either vegetable or animal fats. While our Flat Breads are Naturally Vegan, special certifications from a third party institution would be required for certified Vegan status. We use vegetable ingredients wherever possible, and while we only use suppliers that we wholeheartedly trust, such certifications would need to begin there and we have not yet begun that process. Thanks again for your question and please feel free to contact us directly or respond here if you have any other questions.
Hi, I am just wondering if the wholesome wheat flat breads are vegan?, There isn’t any labeling on them whatsoever and I’m not sure of the sources of some of the ingredients . Please clarify this for me.
Hi Cari,
Toufayan Wholesome Wheat Flat Breads are not vegan. For now, only our Gluten-Free Pita Chips are vegan, however, our bakers are working to create vegan recipes for you to try. Check out our Naturally Vegan Tag to learn more about our line of healthy and delicious products – we’re always adding more! You can find the Flat Bread package labeling, and the nutritional information as well.
We do try to keep the latest nutritional information on this website, however, you should always check the product package for the most accurate info.
