Heating Instructions
Gluten free breads and wraps are more flexible when warm. Heat adds pliability and enhances the flavor. Microwave: On a microwave-safe plate, layer the wraps between moist paper towels and heat on high for 20-40 seconds (microwaves vary in power). Stovetop: Place a wrap in a heated skillet or pan that is lightly coated with butter or oil. Cook each side for about 30 seconds or until warm throughout.

I absolutely Love your grain free gluten free wraps.
However, I can’t find them anywhere anymore, Did you stop making them? Can they be ordered directly from you?
Thanks for your help. Jenn
Hi Jen,
Our Gluten Free Wraps are still available, we have no plans to stop making them. They are available in Wegman’s Stores in the Buffalo area. Use our Store finder to find Gluten Free Wraps near you. You can also buy them on Amazon.
I should’ve written my question better…
I am only inquring about the smart grain gluten free wraps. I haven’t found them in any of the wegmans store for weeks now. I’m only seeing plain and spinach. Same for Amazon. Are they still being made?
Hi Jennifer, sorry I misunderstood.
Yes we are still making the Smart Grain Wraps. They are available in New York, but you’re right, unfortunately we don’t sell them on Amazon. It is up to the individual store manager to stock whichever varities they prefer. Please ask your store manager to stock Smart Grain Wraps, or have them contact us directly. If you are interested in purchasing a large amount, you can contact a Toufayan Sales Rep at 1-800-EAT-PITA (800-328-7482), but we do not offer small quantities for private delivery.
Hi Toufayan:
I purchased your product today (Nov 19, 2020) for the first time (Tortilla Soft Taco Style Wheat) at my local supermarket in the Caribbean (St. Lucia).
However, there is no expiry or best before date on the product packaging. How can I find that information for a product?
There is a white tag with the following number 240 20 D 08:52
Thanks for your comment, Olivia. Your grocer applies the best-by date when they display the product. Please ask your grocer to contact us directly if they need help with product handling. Our Gluten Free Wraps should be coded for a 30 day shelf life.
I recently had a complaint about some gluten free wraps I had purchased at my local store. I was concerned enough to leave a comment. Rich from Toufayan Bakeries contacted me via email. I found his actions so kind and wonderful that I had to post another review. Unfortunately, I do believe I had purchased really old wraps from my store. I do not believe the company had anything to do with that. So cheers to Rich and all the employees at Toufayan Bakeries for all their hard work and wonderful products they produce! You have a lifetime customer.
Thanks so much for your comment! We’re happy to help.
Hello
I love your gluten free wraps – however they are going bad (mold) quickly – I tried keeping them on the counter and 3 days later they had mold on them , I tried putting a brand new package in the refrigerator (never opened) and 3 days later opened them to find them moldy…. what would you suggest for keeping them fresh?
Thanks for sharing your experience, Marianne.
Our Gluten Free Wraps have a 30 day shelf life. Please let us know which store you purchased these from. Make sure you store them at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. We don’t recommend storing them in the refrigerator, however, if they are going bad in the fridge, they might already be at the end of their shelf life. Typically, they will get too much moisture in the fridge and become stale.
Are your gluten free wraps also dairy free?
Yes! Our Gluten Free Wraps are dairy free, enjoy them in good health! You can see all the nutritional information here. Most of our breads are completely dairy free, but with all products, check the label before purchasing. Allergens such as dairy, soy, wheat or nuts will be listed at the end of the ingredient panel.
I have always loved these GF wraps, but my package today had only 5 inside, one of which had a crease in it and was considerably smaller! Thought you should know! And to all of you who asked…yes, they freeze real well! Been eating them for years and I have Celiac Disease.
Thanks for sharing your experience! We’re sorry you didn’t get a full pack of Gluten Free Wraps. Please look for the email we sent you and get back to us about where you purchased your wraps. Feel free to comment further or respond to our email with any questions you have.
Thank you very very much for making these gluten free. My town is small, thus the grocery store is small., plus the fact I can’t drive. The store only sells one kind of gluten free bread, which doesn’t taste that great, so these are helpful, to say the least!
My question is can you please sometime show a video of how to fold these?! I made a very good but very messy BLT today!!
Thanks.
Hi Jeannette,
Thank you so much for your comment! We fold our gluten free wraps just like any other wraps. It helps to heat them up a little before working with them, since it is gluten that makes bread pliable. The warmth softens the fibers in the bread and reduces tearing or ripping. You can find heating instuctions on the package, or just layer your wraps on a plate, with slightly damp paper towels between them and on top. Just 20 seconds works in our microwave. You can also use a skillet or toaster oven to just warm them very slightly. Heat them just before assmebling.
The typcial rolling method is to arrange your ingredients on the side closest to you, off-center, leaving room to the left and right. Start rolling from the side with the ingredients and keep it tight and even. Tuck the ends in on both sides and serve.
Your suggestion is great, we’ll see if we can create a good gluten free, how to roll a wrap video and post it here soon!
Thanks again and enjoy!

Are your gluten free products manufactured in the same facility as your regular wheat products, or are they manufactured in a strictly gluten free facility?
Thanks for your interest, Jennifer.
Our Gluten Free products are not made in a dedicated facility, however we have strict protocols to protect against the possibility of cross-contamination. We prepare our Gluten Free wraps at the beginning of productiuon after a full week of sanitation on all of the equipment and areas used to produce them. We test the production line and all pieces of equipment prior to starting production, to ensure they are all gluten free. We also test the dough, before baking our first gluten free products, as well as during the manufacturing process. These tests are overseen by the Gluten Free Certification Organization (GFCO), which is a program of the Gluten Intolerance Group. Our facility is audited regularly and we maintain dedicated areas for gluten free ingredients, packaging materials and storage.
Feel free to reply with any other questions or comments.
I love the glutenfree wraps.
I always buy them at Sobeys and they have a sticker on it with the expiration date on the package.
This time I bought it somewhere else and no date on it and the owner of the store didn’t know. I really need to know the date so please help me figure out until when my 2 packages are able to serve?
There is a time and code stamped on it which is
23:43:02 287-19 OL2
Almost look like 2019 which is not got so please help me.
Thanks Simone
Thanks for your endorsement, Simone, we love them too!
Toufayan Gluten Free Wraps should be coded for 30 days shelf life after defrost.
If the number you referenced was a Julian Date code, it implies October 2019, 11:43pm with “OL2” representing the work shift. However, it might not be a date code at all. Note that unopened Gluten Free Wraps can be frozen for up to 8 months after purchase.
Please feel free to comment further if you have any other questions.
I am celiac. I am concerned about the modified food starch in your gluten free smart grain wraps. What is it made from? Does it contain wheat? Is this product approved for gluten free celiac people?
Hi Sam, thanks for your interest.
Our Gluten Free Wraps aren’t made with modified food starch, we use corn starch. These wraps are certified gluten free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization, you can enjoy them safely! Find all the nutritional details by clicking here.
Is Amazon price gouging???
Our Gluten Free Wraps are available on Amazon, though only in packs of three. The prices listed there include shipping and are the best value we are able to provide for direct to consumer sales. Your grocer may be able to provide a better price per unit, but for many stores the price on Amazon is comparable.
Hi. My son is allergic to gluten and we like your wraps. However, I’m concerned about the soy, which can be genetically modified. I would love for you to have the wraps certified by the Non-GMO Project. Thank you.

You’re very welcome, Stena.
We’re glad to hear from you. We’re always working on something new – and we’re happy to hear suggestions and comments.
I just picked up a pack of gluten free wraps and they were stale and broke when I tried to fold them.
Hi Anna,
Sorry for your experience. It’s very hard to get pliability out of gluten-free products. It’s the gluten that provides the flex. Heating up the wraps helps tremendously. Please just give them another try. Place wraps on a microwave-safe plate with slightly damp paper towels between each one and cook on high for about 30 seconds to one minute (or until warm throughout). Even if you serve them cold, the extra pliability from the warmth can make wrapping them easier and the heat brings out the flavor as well.
I am 52 and found out one year ago I have celiac disease. I was devastated as I just love bread. I have a severe (anaphylactic) allergy to egg also! I work 12 hour shifts and my favorite go to food was always peanut butter on pita bread. I picked up toufayan wraps the other day from Vincenzo’s in Kitchener Ontario. I thought they were tortillas and was going to try peanut butter on them anyways. To my extreme delight I got to work and was so hungry I ate one. I can’t praise this company enough. It was so so so soft!!! I was so happy it was bread and not a tortilla!!! It was so delicious!!! I am so happy! I really thought my pita bread peanut butter days were over. Thank you!! I plan on going back this week and buying all the wraps in the store! I honestly would pay $100/pack! So delicious so soft so fresh. I have been spreading the word as I work in a busy emergency department and see many celiac patients. In fact we have 3 nurses and 1 doctor who are celiac. We share new wonderful finds and I must say this is the beat find for me yet!!! I am surprised about the person who bought it and it was stale. Mine is so fresh. It is my new favorite food and I plan on trying so many recipes with it. Thank you Toufayan. I can’t praise this company enough!!!! Going to post on Facebook now also!!
Hello Julie,
We are so pleased to hear how much you enjoy our Gluten-Free Wraps! We’d love to hear more about the recipes you’d like to try with them. Send us a recipe and maybe a photo and we’ll feature it on our website!
Thanks & Enjoy!
I can’t find a exp date on my wraps. How do I know how long they are good for. And can I freeze them?
Unopened packages of our Gluten Free Wraps can be frozen for up to 8 months. Thaw frozen wraps for 2-3 hours. Your grocer should mark the date code at 30 days shelf life after defrost. Each grocer uses their own method to mark date codes, sometimes printing it on the package, or using a sticker.
I love your wraps. The only question I have is could you make them larger? I’d love to be able to get more into them without busting at the seams. If there’s ever an XL version I would absolutely buy them and I predict many others would too!
Thanks again for the great GF products.
Hi Patrick,
Thank you for your interest in our Gluten-Free Wraps. We will definitely pass your message along to our bakers!
Thanks again!
II love tour wraps, all of them. However ,I can’t find Ashely or use by date on the packaging. Can you tell me where it is? Thank you.
Hi Nita, thank you for your endorsement!
It’s up to your grocer to add the date code. Usually printed on the bag near the bottom (opening side), or on a sticker. Gluten Free Wraps should be coded for 30 days.
Can you explain this date a little more clearly. I bought some at our local grocery store on March 28 and the sticker on the package stated, sale by date which was April 1. Does this mean I only have days to eat these before they are bad?
If so that don’t say much for my local Publix store.
I eat the wraps because the gluten free bread is terrible but I have a feeling these are bad as the wraps have a funny odor to them.
Hi Jeff,
The date code is applied by your store manager. Toufayan Gluten Free Wraps have a 30 day shelf life. Please check with your grocer. You may be able to swap them out for a fresh package.
Hurray for FreshCo Windsor, ON! They are carrying your wraps. Look for them in the freezer section. I used to have to drive to Detroit, MI Meijer’s to find them.
Love the wraps but recently purchased two packages that were immediately stale. Heating them up did no good. I’ve had this happen before but I’m really dismayed by it. I purchased them both at Hannafords.
Hello Amy,
We are sorry to hear about your experience. We hope you’ll try our Gluten-Free Wraps again. To help keep our Gluten-Free Wraps fresh and ready to eat we like to store them in a breadbox, or in the large shallow bowl that often holds onions in our kitchen. Make sure they are well-sealed with no air inside the package, and stored in a cool, dry place (above the fridge is too hot). We recommend that you don’t store them in the fridge, but if you do, remember that condensation will make them go stale, so consider double sealing them.
Usually, we heat up each wrap on the stove top or for a few seconds in the microwave with a damp paper towel to increase pliability and bring out the flavor.
We’ve been looking into more Gluten Free options, as we work out our best recipes, we’ll share them! Thanks for your interest, do you have any other suggestions?
Just had the same experience. Came home 30 minutes ago with a pkg of the gluten free wraps…stale and falling apart as soon as i try to ”wrap” them around my chicken salad. Won’t buy these again Will stick with the low carb ones which have never been dry.
